Oatmeal and Such

Oatmeal:

Organic:

Central Market:
1. Apple Cinnamon: Decent

Non-organic:

Quaker:

-High Fiber Instant:
1. Cinnamon Swirl: Pretty Good, I'd use less than 1/2 cup of water if boiling and adding, not sure about microwave (Nut. Info.)
-Instant:
1. Bananas and Cream: Pretty good! Not that stupid fake banana, candy flavor (Nut. Info.)
1. Blueberries and Cream: Yummy! Predictably, the best flavor of the fruits (Nut. Info.)
2. Maple and Brown Sugar: Yummy! (Nut. Info.)
3. Peaches and Cream: Pretty good (Nut. Info.)
4. Strawberries and Cream: Good stuff, has the usual dried strawberry flake taste (Nut. Info.)
-Simple Harvest Hot Cereal:
1. Maple Brown Sugar With Pecans: Tasty, but use less water than is recommended (Nut. Info.)
-Weight Control Instant Oatmeal:
1. Banana Bread: Yummy (Nut. Info.)
2. Maple Brown Sugar & Pecan: Pretty good (Nut. Info.)

Filk (non-dairy milk)

I just don't see the need to review cow's milk. I don't taste all that much difference between brands.

Milk:

Vegan:

Organic:

-Greenwise:
1. Light Plain Soymilk: Good stuff, thicker and creamier than the others I've reviewed. Publix also offers great prices, so that these cartons are cheaper options than most or all of the non organic soymilk options. (1 cup: 70 calories: 2g fat: 1.5g polyun; 95mg/4% sodium; 300mg/8% Potassium; 7g carbs: less than 1 g fiber, 6g sugar; 7g protein; 50% vit b12; 30% calcium, vit d, riboflavin; 10% vit a; 6% iron)

Non-organic:

8th Continent:

1. Light Original Soymilk: Yummy! Great in iced lattes as well as smoothies and cereal! (Nut. Info.)

Almond Dream:
1. Original: Okay, too watery okay for smoothies, but not great alone or in lattes. You need many other ingredients to mask this one's deficits. Also the 64 oz cartons are hard to pour without spilling. (Nut. Info.)

Blue Diamond Natural:

-Almond Breeze: Great for smoothies and cereal definitely. Even good to drink alone, especially with some Stevia product.

--Refrigerated:
1. Original: Good, but only okay on it's own, better in smoothies and stuff in other words. Up to 60 calories for this stuff, but it can be easier to find in stores. (Nut. Info.)
--Unsweetened:
1. Chocolate: Really yummy! (1 cup: 45 calories) <-How awesome is that? (Nut info.)
2. Original: Not great on it's own, but put it in a smoothie or a latte or just add some sweetener to it, and it's great (1 cup: 40 calories) <- again, amazing! (Nut. Info.)
3. Vanilla: Yummy (1 cup: 40 calories) <- Once again, incredible! Why have we been drinking milk meant for baby cows all this time?! (Nut. info.)

1. Unsweetened: This has a completely bland taste. Obviously, considering how delicious all other coconut milk products are, I was anticipating quite the treat, but at least the unsweetened version was a total disappointment. It's so watery. In smoothies, it pretty much ruins the whole thing :[ Almost all the calories come from saturated fat anyway. I may try the sweetened versions, but stevia products didn't help this, so who knows? (Nut. Info.)

Creamer:

Vegan:

Non-organic:

Silk:
1. Original: Pretty good.  I find that for a 10-12 oz cup of coffee, I use 3 tbsp/45 calories to get my cup right.  Plus a couple packets of Stevia this or that of course. (Nut. Info.)

" Plantains? Mangos? GUAVA-INFUSED? These words will get me any time. If I find it, I'll let you know where!
(Nutritional Info.)
1. Five Cheese Tomato Pizza: tomatoes & five signature cheese including asiago & parmesan with tomato basil sauce on stone-fried crust made with Kashi 7 whole grains & sesame with flax seed: Tasty, but not terribly interesting (Nutritional Info.)
-Thin Crust:
1. Mexicali Black Bean: Thin Crust: Really Good - Make sure you don't cook it longer than 10 minutes - the thin crust is especially susceptible to burning.(Nutritional Info.)
